Fish Lake camping trip!!

We got to take our first camping trip of the year this past weekend. What a hoot! We love it at Fish Lake and this trip was no exception. The weather wasn't real good until saturday but we trudged through anyways. Grayse and Dill are great little campers and never complained once. We had a great time and came home all relaxed.Grayse had never caught a fish before and right after she was telling me that she is never going to catch one, she catches this puny Bull Head off the dock. She was so excited to say the least! She wouldn't even let me take him off the hook before she ran back to camp to show the others. When she got back the poor fish had been drug, by accident, in the dirt and rocks. It was just short of a miracle when I took him off the hook and, thinking he was dead, threw him in the water for the birds to get, when he took off swimming and was never to be seen again. I laughed til I wet my pants! What hardy little fish! He was out of the water for atleast ten minutes!! And he still survived!
Dylan was so patient and caught 6 fish total! Wat to go buddy!! He threw back 3 and brought 3 home for the neighbors pond. He didn't want to eat them.

Grayse caught 9 fish total! Pretty good for never catching a fish before!!

The kids and I decided to take the boat out and daddy stayed back to take a nap. They caught so many fish that they couldn't keep their lines in the water!

I was the navigator. It's been a long time since I've driven a boat! It was a blast!!

Then we took a little break and played a mean game of "Go Fish"!

Here are some random dock fishing pictures. The fish were really not biting at all on the dock. The trolling on the lake proved to be way better!

Grayse and Dills have gotten so good at bating their own hooks [even with the worms!] and casting out their lines! Amazing!!

Papa Tim and Uncle Dan came with us, too! It wouldn't have been the same without them!

We decided to make daddy go out with us one last time before we left and it turned out to be a lucky run!!

We ended our trip with Grayse catching a 3lb 10oz trout! She started with the tiny Bull Head and left with the big trout! She was so excited and even got her picture taken and it was put on the store's countertop for all to see.
We can't wait to go again! What fun times and great memories made!!

I love this time of my life!

Today was another beautiful day in Ellensburg. The kids and I decided to saddle up our horses and spend time together riding. I love this time of life when the kids are old enough to enjoy this with me. I have dreamt of this time since they were babies and it's very bittersweet. They are my best little buddies and we all enjoy eachother so much. Now, if we could just get daddy to ride....hmm........... I love to watch them get their horses ready. They are both so capable and help eachother whenever needed.

Grayse is such an accomplished rider at 8 years old. We couldn't be more proud of her. She spends hours with her horse on a daily basis and is so responsible in taking care of him.

Cory, her horse, is so tollerent. All Grayse wants to do is run. I have to tell her all of the time to slow down! Poor Cory is 22 years old this year and going strong!

I love this time of life with my kids!!

Dylan is becoming a very capable rider as well. Crisco, his pony, has been a great teacher. He is super lazy and makes Dylan get pretty tough to get him going.
Crisco just decided to stop and not go anywhere. Dylan got after him and did a great job of "demanding respect" from his pony!

This was the end result.....a calm and willing pony. Yay for Dylan!! It has taken him about 8 months of riding this pony to get to this point.

We had a great day and most of all Grayse was in heaven having us all out there riding with her!We have two of the greatest kids ever!
