Ice skating adventures!

So, we have this fairly shallow pond on our farm. And for the first time in the 3 1/2 years that we have lived here I have felt safe enough letting the kids ice skate on it. Once it was frozen enough to walk on we ran down to the local thrift stores and scored on a couple pair of used ice skates. The kids were so excited! They hit the ice right away! And this is how it all went down....and up!
Grayse pushed this barrel around for stability but more often then not she landed on her bottom. I think it saw more of the ice than her skates did! Poor thing, she felt so bad that she couldn't stay up!

To make things worse, Dylan took right to it! Only a handful of spills and he was off. It's funny how some learn more quickly and have more balance than others.
Grayse is really starting to pick it up now and we just kept encouraging her not to quit. Poor thing has such sore muscles. She was having a hard time walking yesterday!
