Little Swimmers

Our local city pool offers an open swim time each week for only 25 cents! It's easy on the budget and since we decided not to do swim lessons this semester the kids really look forward to it! They love the water and since Dylan is now 7 years old I don't have to go in with them. Although, I plan to sometimes.

Although Dylan is doing really well, he is still a little nervous without a floatie or Grayse nearby.

Grayse is becoming quite the little fish and helps her brother out alot.

First Driving Lesson

This afternoon we were out watering trees with this cute little truck and daddy decided to put the kids in for a driving lesson! So, I grabbed my camera really quickly and off they went! Grayse was a little nervous but we were so proud of her, she broke through her fears [which has been a very difficult thing for her in the past] and jumped behind the wheel! The only thing she insisted on was having daddy in there with her!

Look at her sweet face with mixed emotions of fear and excitement!!

She did a great job! Her confidence was so high after that! Yay for Grayse!!

First driving lesson

Dylan was actually the first one to jump in. He took right to it and was pretty comfortable right off the bat!

He didn't even need daddy to ride with him. Here dad gives him some instruction from outsied the truck!!

Both these little monkeys are going to be great drivers when they grow up. There's nothing like starting them young! Woo-hoo!

Grayse's violin recital!

Grayse had a violin recital today. She has been playing for 4 years. She played" Mary Had a Little Lamb" and did great! It was held in a beautifu recital room in the new music building at the college. She was so cute and was more nervous about getting lost in the building after she played than actually playing the song!
Her cousin Lily was also there and playing so, that made her a little more comfortable. We were so proud of both of them! These two pics are of her practicing on the warm up room.

Boating!

Our little Dylan [ not so little anymore!] turned 7 on Aprin 30th. He had been wanting a boat to float around our pond and we finally caved in and bought one for his birthday! We took it out tonight and did some boating before any wind came back! It's been solid wind here for a week!

He did so well and was really getting the hang of rowing. That's a tough one to learn and a really good coordination builder!

To say the least, he loves his boat!! Oh, and we made him wear a life jacket, of course! Even though the pond is only 4 feet deep.

It was a lovely evening and fun to watch!

Then daddy had to take a turn. He wasn't sure if the boat would hold him but he did just fine!!

Then it was Grayse's turn and before we knew it she was running and yelling " I have to go potty!" She was headed for the nearest cover!

I don't think this little hill was tall enough! Ha-ha-ha!!!! She's gonna kill me when she see's this picture!!
